ASUS U35JC-A1 13.3-Inch Laptop - Silver Customer review

I had to wait for three weeks for my laptop to be available, (pre-ordered on Amazon) but it was worth the wait. My wife has an Asus UL30 and we have both been pleased with it.
The UL35 exceeds the UL30, although its battery life seems a little less. I have had this laptop now for two days and so far everything works as expected. I also ordered an external CD burner for this one, which is essential because this does not have a built-in drive. I use this laptop a lot for travel and put it in a backpack and carry it onto the plane.
This has a faster processor than the UL30 and a larger hard drive.
Gripes: Since this does not come with a system CD, it took a LONG time (hours) to burn four system backup CDs--and how would I have accomplished this if I hadn't ordered the external CD burner. Since I am buying a laptop with Win 7 on it, it's absurd that no system CD is provided!
I wish they would offer a printed operations manual, even for a few bucks extra. The manual is on the hard drive, but a printed one would be easier to read.
There seems to be one hot spot on the middle right side of this unit.
It's neat that this came with a lot of useful software already installed: Amazon's Kindle reader, Skype, etc. I had planned on having to install several of these on the laptop myself. The video cam and microphone worked great as it came out of the box, I made a Skype call to a friend and everything worked fine.
Overall I would say this is a great computer and worth the wait. My previous computer, that I took with me on trips, was a HP Pavillion, that weighed a ton compared to this.ASUS U45JC-A1 14-Inch Thin and Light Laptop - Up to 10 Hours of Battery Life
